LUDLOW — A motorist who reportedly collided with a school bus on Route 21 Tuesday afternoon was taken to the hospital, police said.

Maretta Thomsen, interim director of Sabis International Charter School in Springfield, told Western Mass News the bus was taking members of the cross-country team to a meet when the crash occurred.

None of the students were hurt, she said.

The bus had to be towed away and another bus was sent to the scene to bring the students back to the school.

WWLP reported the crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. and the scene was cleared about 90 minutes later.

Additional information on the crash, including the nature of the victim’s injuries, was not available. Western Mass News is television partner to The Republican and MassLive.com.
