LAYTON, Utah, Oct. 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 38-year-old woman from Idaho died in an auto-pedestrian crash in Layton Saturday evening.

Layton Police Lt. Brady Fitzpatrick told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred in the area of 650 N. Main St. at approximately 9:50 p.m. when officials received a report of a woman who had been struck by a southbound vehicle.

The woman, who was in Layton on business, was not in a crosswalk, Fitzpatrick said.

The driver of the vehicle, a male juvenile, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. Fitzpatrick said it appears the driver simply did not see the woman and at this time it does not appear there are contributing factors such as speed. The driver most likely will not face any charges.

The woman’s identity has not been released pending notification of family.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
