The rest of the students were taken to Arcadia Middle School, Bagstad said. Their parents were notified of the accident and were given the opportunity to meet with their children.
According to Bagstad, investigators do not believe the accident was caused by poor road conditions. It also does not appear that the bus driver was at fault, he said.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. Officials with the sheriff’s office were not immediately available to comment.
